Consulting Manager / Senior Manager

The Manager / Senior Manager will be responsible for leading most aspects of client cost optimization or process optimization projects, including project management, client and supplier communications, supplier negotiations, and delivery of results. Managers will actively manage and mentor our outstanding associate and analyst resources.

Specific job responsibilities and activities, based on experience, could include the following:

  • Develop overall project plans and lead all or parts of client engagements
  • Manage Insight Sourcing Group resources on projects and coordinate with subject matter experts from within and outside of the firm
  • Develop creative strategies and recommendations
  • Present to client executives
  • Build consensus among customer stakeholders
  • Develop and build relationships with clients
  • Potentially lead new product/service development and launch efforts
  • Assist in developing internal Insight Sourcing Group strategy, intellectual capital and deliverables

Typical projects include:

  • Strategic sourcing both within a company and across a portfolio of companies (private equity)
  • Process reengineering
  • Expenditure analysis

Qualifications for the Manager position include:

  • Strategic sourcing experience AND a consulting background with a well-regarded firm are strongly sought
  • 6-12 years of relevant business experience
  • Strong work ethic and high level of integrity
  • Demonstrated project management and management consulting
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to manage resources performing complex analytics in order to develop client decision support data
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects, tasks and/or initiatives simultaneously

Consulting Associate / Senior Associate

Associates will be responsible for helping support all aspects of Insight Sourcing Group’s client-facing projects, with direction from the firm’s experienced executive team. Both Associates and Senior Associates are expected to work closely with clients and suppliers to drive project initiatives and will lead consulting, problem solving, project management and data analysis that will be the basis for client decision making.

Typical projects would include Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Transformation, Spend Analytics, and Make-or-Buy Analyses.

Specific responsibilities would include the following:

  • Develop robust sourcing strategies and recommendations
  • Develop and foster relationships with client stakeholders
  • Manage Insight Sourcing Group and client project resources
  • Facilitate developing project strategies and project plans
  • Work with clients to identify and interpret key project requirements
  • Synthesize disparate data sources into insightful analysis and clear deliverables
  • Build consensus among client stakeholders
  • Present project results and recommendations to client executives
  • Analyze project financial results to guide management decisions
  • Coordinate communications with internal and external project team
  • Support new product/service development within Insight Sourcing Group and help launch efforts
  • Contribute to Insight Sourcing Group’s strategic decisions and direction

Account Manager – InsightGPO

We are seeking an Account Manager to serve in our Group Purchasing practice. Reporting directly to the VP, this role is instrumental in supporting the growth and retention strategies for InsightGPO. Qualified candidates will have demonstrable experience in account management activities such as hunter/farmer roles, client retention, cross sell/up sell, client business reviews, CRM pipeline management, and executive communications. Optimal candidates will have worked in organization(s) with heavy cross functional dependencies and shared services as well as experience working with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, in support of client outcomes and successful sales cycles. Candidates will have the ability to quickly build rapport with clients and stakeholders, proactively identify areas of opportunity, and support timely issue resolution.

The Account Manager role will generally focus on three core areas. Example responsibilities below (not limited to):

Sales

  • Transitioning leads from qualification through deal closure, assist sales process with VP’s and Directors
  • Cross-selling other key products / services to current clients
  • Developing sales and marketing materials to share with prospects
  • “Team” selling with peer group across Insight Sourcing Group business units

Ongoing Client Support

  • Forming and fostering relationships with key stakeholders at each client
  • Enhancing client relationships to drive retention and compliance
  • Coordinating and facilitating Business Reviews (strategic clients)
  • Determining and maintaining a touch-base cadence (non-strategic clients)
  • Coordinating the Quarterly Newsletter in conjunction with the category managers
  • Scheduling regular meetings, calls, follow-ups, and correspondence with clients
  • Coordinating with other Insight Sourcing Group Account Managers to manage the InsightGPO activities for their clients

Operational

  • Managing pipeline/Salesforce.com
  • Developing and delivering dashboard and participation reports
  • Supporting category managers with opportunities
  • Maintaining business support data (ie. Data collection templates, marketing materials, etc.)
  • “Liaison” to the business

Qualifications for this position include:

  • 2+ years of experience with a verifiable record of customer facing success as an individual contributor and/or in sales support, demonstrating progressive growth
  • Experience with group purchasing or procurement is ideal, but not required
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred

I.T. Sourcing Associate / Senior Associate

We are seeking candidates that understand strategic sourcing and cost reduction strategies with a specific focus on I.T.-related areas of spend (e.g., software, hardware, peripherals, I.T. staffing, cloud technology, etc.). This role is client-facing and will work as part of numerous project teams, in order to develop and execute strategic sourcing and cost reduction initiatives associated with I.T. spend. The I.T. ISG Enterprise Energy Solutions is an exciting area of growth for the firm and drives tremendous value for clients. The practice focuses on managing energy spend for Insight Sourcing Group clients, from retail to industrial. The Energy team works closely with clients to identify and meet goals in cost savings initiatives, budgeting processes, and hedging market risks. The Energy practice is of growing importance to our firm’s strategic goals and over-all value offering to our clients.

We are actively recruiting Analyst candidates with one to three years’ experience in the Consulting or Energy industries as well as candidates coming directly out of a top undergraduate Engineering or Business program for this role.

  • Identify procurement opportunities for clients
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies based on client goals
  • Communicate directly with energy suppliers during procurement projects
  • Analyze price responses in order to develop a recommendation deliverable to a client
  • Monitor overall market trends for procurement opportunities


Demand-Side Management & Energy Efficiency

Creation of operational improvements through metering / monitoring coupled with energy efficiency and demand-limiting solutions

  • Proactively identify energy efficiency and demand-side management opportunities both internally and to client
  • Monitor the cost and energy savings after a project has been implemented
  • Manage the energy efficiency project pipeline for the client
  • Develop financial business cases to present to client
