CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS

Consulting Associate / Senior Associate

Associates will be responsible for helping support all aspects of Insight Sourcing Group’s client-facing projects, with direction from the firm’s experienced executive team. Both Associates and Senior Associates are expected to work closely with clients and suppliers to drive project initiatives and will lead consulting, problem solving, project management and data analysis that will be the basis for client decision making.

Typical projects would include Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Transformation, Spend Analytics, and Make-or-Buy Analyses.

Specific responsibilities would include the following:

  • Develop robust sourcing strategies and recommendations
  • Develop and foster relationships with client stakeholders
  • Manage Insight Sourcing Group and client project resources
  • Facilitate developing project strategies and project plans
  • Work with clients to identify and interpret key project requirements
  • Synthesize disparate data sources into insightful analysis and clear deliverables
  • Build consensus among client stakeholders
  • Present project results and recommendations to client executives
  • Analyze project financial results to guide management decisions
  • Coordinate communications with internal and external project team
  • Support new product/service development within Insight Sourcing Group and help launch efforts
  • Contribute to Insight Sourcing Group’s strategic decisions and direction
  • Exhibit integrity in decisions and firm relationships
  • Achieve excellence in execution of projects and initiatives
  • Limited travel, as needed

Qualifications for the Associate position include:

  • 3-6 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong work ethic and high level of integrity
  • Demonstrated project management, consulting, leadership and analytical skills
  • Prefer procurement and strategic sourcing experience, but will develop with the right candidate
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint) products, including the ability to develop and interpret complex analytical models and ad-hoc reports
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to present comfortably to senior executives
  • Proficient at building and maintaining client relationships; proven client facing skills
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects, tasks and initiatives simultaneously
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment
  • B.S. in Business or Engineering with a strong GPA and/or Management Consulting experience

IT Procurement Consultant

Do you have deep IT procurement experience and want the challenge of delivering strong results to a variety of clients? Are you a consultant who excels in a fast paced environment, managing sourcing projects and developing teams? Insight Sourcing Group is seeking candidates with broad IT procurement knowledge across several areas of IT spend such as IT Services & Labor, IT Infrastructure, IT Software, and Telecommunications. We also value deeper knowledge in select domain areas such as cloud and cybersecurity. The IT Procurement Consultant will be expected to infuse ISG’s consulting business with their IT expertise to support client delivery and business development while helping scale ISG’s IT capabilities. The IT Procurement Consultant will have a dedicated focus within ISG’s IT Center of Excellence to support all aspects of client-facing IT sourcing and cost optimization projects.  The Consultant will be expected to work closely with clients and suppliers to drive project initiatives and will lead consulting, problem solving, project management and data analysis that will be the basis for strategic client decision making.  Further, the IT Procurement Consultant will play an important role in deepening the expertise of ISG’s IT Center of Excellence and capturing knowledge to support business development opportunities while helping scale ISG’s IT capabilities.

Typical client-facing projects would involve IT within the context of:

  • Strategic sourcing and cost optimization (both within a company and across a portfolio of companies)
  • Procurement opportunity assessment and opportunity roadmap
  • Procurement transformation
  • Spend analytics
  • Make vs. buy decision analysis
  • Benchmarking and best practices implementation

The ideal candidate possesses broad IT procurement knowledge across several areas of IT spend such as IT Services & Labor, IT Infrastructure, IT Software, and Telecommunications.  ISG values deeper knowledge in select domain areas such as cloud and cybersecurity.  The Consultant will be expected to infuse ISG’s consulting business with their expertise across clients’ IT spend stacks.

This is a full-time, salaried position with a competitive benefits package.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

Specific responsibilities include:

60% Client Sourcing Strategy/Execution, Consulting, Project Management

  • Project Execution – master and continually improve project results and client outcomes
    • Ensure effective delivery of client project work and client deliverables through strong project management, team management, and client management skills
    • Develop creative strategies and recommendations
    • Provide IT thought leadership and benchmarking
    • Manage ISG project support resources and coordinate with subject matter experts within and outside of the firm
    • Develop and nurture relationships with clients
    • Work with contractors, consultants, and internal /external resources to align priorities, accomplish objectives, and satisfy all stakeholders

20% Business Development

  • Sales and Marketing – develop and convert sales by establishing credibility
    • Support sales calls
    • Develop sales-support materials
    • Provide IT thought leadership
  • Assessments – drive assessment conversions
    • Support development and review of client IT spend summaries
    • Work with team to identify and assess opportunities for savings and cost optimization through various IT sourcing levers

20% Practice Development

  • Intellectual Capital Development – enhance internal capabilities and mastery of IT category knowledge
    • Create and curate deliverable content (POV slides, case studies, whitepapers, etc.) to capture IT category knowledge and ultimately support internal knowledge share and business development
    • Develop and execute strategies to aggregate data for ongoing benchmarking, insight generation, and data analysis
    • Assist with ongoing development and management of intellectual capital
  • Insight Analytics – support ISG’s Insight Analytics practice in developing IT category dashboards and key insights
    • Collaborate with members of the Insight Analytics team to develop key metrics
    • Support standardization of visualization across IT categories
  • Spend Visibility – enhance ISG’s category knowledge and understanding of vendor base
    • Assist in ongoing review and revision of IT taxonomy and categorization
    • Assist in reconciling client-provided taxonomy or legacy ISG taxonomy with current preferred taxonomy
    • Support development of procurement roadmaps

Qualifications and critical success factors for this position include:

  • Strategic sourcing experience AND a consulting background are strongly sought
  • 6-12 years of relevant business experience
  • Demonstrated project management and management consulting capabilities
  • Strong work ethic and high level of integrity
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to present comfortably to senior executives
  • Solid analytical skills, including the ability to manage resources performing complex analytics as a basis for client decision support data
  • An interest and passion for growing and developing junior team members
  • Strong client services skills/orientation developed by working with either internal business customers or preferably external consulting clients
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects, tasks and/or initiatives simultaneously
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Technology); MBA a plus, but not required
